Who’s interested in attending and presenting at the May 8th Communities of Inquiry Conference? The conference is smaller this year, but we know the audience would benefit from learning from the great work GATE CITY folks have been doing. Specifically, we’d love to have a panel on Family and Community Outreach that shares how your teams planned and carried out community projects to reach out to the parents in your school’s community. (Family Library Day, a workshop for parents on accessing the parent portal, a conversation about school issues with parents at the Adult Learning Center, etc.)
So, what’s in in for you? You will earn professional development hours, add to your portfolio and support the competencies on your matrix, share your work with a larger community, and be able to attend other conference workshops.
The event is on Friday, May 8th from 7:30 to 3:00 at the Puritan Conference Center in Manchester. Breakfast and lunch is provided. Liz Lichtenberg, the NH Teacher of the Year, is the keynote speaker. We are hoping to have a panel of 5-6 GATE CITY participants. Please let us know soon if you are interested.
