Community and family connections

Thank you again for attending the Closing Session. It was exciting to hear about all of the great community work the teams have done. This seemed to be a highlight of the semester for everyone. One participant from Amherst Street came in sporting a beautiful scarf made by A Woven Thread–an artists’ collective of refugee women, some of whom are parents of cohort students. (Looked great on you, Karla!) Amherst Street participants were able to attend one of the collective’s events and learn about some of the ways their students’ families are making their own connections in the community in very empowering ways. Here’s a link to a Concord Monitor article that Carmen shared with us about the collective. Keep sharing these stories!
